Hard Work Really Brings....

track love

Hard work really brings you soreness. Last week brought plenty of hard working workouts. Monday ended with my bread and butter, a tempo. 18+ minutes of a hard tempo on our cross country course did me well. This time was better then last, with getting into the run and really feeling strong the whole way through. I might of fell off twice or so but I just reminded myself that I had to get through until the end. Monday was a little wet and rainy but a great start off to the week. Tired doesn't even explain the rest of my week with tuesday being hill workout out day that made me want to keel over and stay in bed at the end of the night. The ache of my quads and calves made it a struggle to even get up out of the bed for 6:45am practice on Wednesday but as I got up to hit my weights. Everyday is a day to get stronger and you should never not take advantage of it. Since we could only practice for 8hours in the week Wednesday I didn't have afternoon practice but boy I sure did have to come back and take a nice ice bath. It might be one of 3 or 4 that I take this year because me and cold water just don't get along to well. I happen to get in and it wasn't even that bad, since it was only 60 degrees instead of the regular 48 like normal. The rest of the week just was easy and fun with sprints on thursday and a nice longer run on friday afternoon. Saturday was off because I just needed a good break but sunday called for a nice beautiful long run. A total of 52mins did me well but another ice bath might be in store later. The weather has started to get cold and rainy but to me it's perfect. Reminding me of lovely Northern California I step out into it with tights and sneaks and dry-fit shirt and call it a good day. This coming week gives us 20hrs of practice, not literally but it gives us more time to practice and not cut things out. Meaning wednesday afternoon practices are back on and a lot more soreness keeps coming. A massage is also in store this week and that maybe the only thing I am looking forward to. But I will roll out of bed in the morning and start another week of running and lifting just so I can get that much better. Hope you all have a wonderful week of training and even just another week of fun doing what you love to do.
