BECCA Cosmetics Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation Review
When I was looking for a new foundation I never thought I would find my way to the BECCA cosmetics side of Sephora. But of course my girl Allie told me that I would love the New Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation. Now I was a little hesitant about getting a foundation with the word luminous in it. Well, like many, we fear that we will end up looking like a total grease ball. Let me tell you now, this is not the case with this foundation.
I have more normal skin, but I feel even if you had combo/oily skin you would be totally fine rocking this foundation. I found this foundation to hold up to all of its claims. Light weight, buildable, and it feels totally weightless on your face. I'm a person who doesn't really wear makeup, so when I do I WEAR it, there's no holding back. I found that if I wanted a simple day look just to even out my skin tone I could do so, but I could also do a full coverage look.
Now when it comes to lasting power, I give this foundation a 8 out of 10. Now the only reason I do this is because I have had foundations where I didn't have to touch up, didn't have to blot, and not imperfections peaked through after hours of wear. The BECCA Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation last six to seven hours without any imperfections starting to peak through. This is without touch ups from my powder. I did find myself blotting about 3 hours after applying, but that's because it was extremely hot one of the days I wore it. Another time, when it was about mid 60's, I didn't have to blot or touch my makeup at all. So If you live in a hot city I wouldn't suggest this foundation.
I didn't find the luminous aspect of the foundation bad at all. And for once being an oily monster I believe it was a nice glow, instead of my face looking like a strobe ball of grease. I wore this foundation for my brothers wedding and cousins baby shower, and found it to photograph really well. I was really surprised at how great and healthy my skinned looked in pictures. This is my favorite foundation for photography hands down. The subtle glow it gives the skin, and the blur of imperfections is a total 10 in my book. There is a dropper that holds the dispenses the foundation and I don't find it a problem. I use my beauty blender to get a fuller coverage. I place dots of the foundation on the back of my hand or makeup artist palette. I then apply it to my face and blend out. I did try it with a dense foundation brush but found that it take a lot more product to cover imperfections when buffing into my face rather then dabbing to blend.
If you are on the fence about picking up this foundation, I say do it! Go get a sample if needed from Sephora. The foundation comes in 9 flexible shades that I believe will fit everyone. I found it did oxidize just a little but not a ton. If you're wondering my color is Deep Bronze and my Sephora Skin IQ is 1R13(Summer Color).
