The Grow Out Process | Natural Hair Journey
I haven't told you all that I am officially growing my hair out again. Well, maybe I did, but I'm telling you again. The time I cut any of my hair was back in December. Since then I can say that I have seen a ton of growth. What have I been doing? Honestly, I haven't done anything different from what I was doing before. My routine has pretty much stayed the same minus a couple tweaks.
I still wash my hair with shampoo once a month, and I still co-wash my hair twice a week. Oil treatment? It's exactly the same as it was from my hair growth challenge. I will be talking about it more later this week. I want to make sure I give you the deats on all the goodness. The one minor tweak that I have been doing is wearing wigs. YES, wigs. Back in 2012 when I went officially natural, I made sure to get a full sew in. Now, my hair did grow with that as well, but I believe that I wasn't getting the right type of care. I love that I can now wear a lace front wig during the day, take it off at night and just let my hair breathe.
Another great thing about wigs is that you can still properly take care of your hair. I still follow my routine, I still make sure I'm detangling my hair when I co-wash and its contributed to a ton of growth! I'm so excited to see how long I can grow out my hair this time. I am still contemplating a style with my hair, as I just don't want to keep it long. I have been crushing on Smartista Beauty's hair - she has an undercut - and I think I'm going with that. Let me know what styles you think would look nice.
