Little Black Basics

I've been a such a black mood. Black isn't a color a have a ton of but I do have the basics. This fall I plan to add a few more, as I am missing black skinny jeans and etc. Since I thought it was only appropriate to start October talking about black basics, make sure to tell me some of your favorite black pieces for the fall season. I'm hoping the weather starts to get a little bit colder here in northern California, as I'm itching to pair a ton of these items together.

Tops:

You can never go wrong with having a black top. Button up, tank, and casual tee are a must in your closet so make sure you have all 3 of theses pieces. I added a cami to this because there are a lot of blouses I wear that require me to wear one.

Now like i was saying before I actually don't own a pair of black skinny jeans. So, yes they are on my shopping list for this fall/winter. For a little while I have been loving the skinny jeans with the rip in the knee. You are totally fine if you don't have a rip in your knee, that is just my personal style choice. Leather wrap skirt! Yes, yes, and yes again. The wrap skirt is a big trend this fall/winter season and has definitely has shot it's way up to the top of my shopping list. If you don't like the wrap skirt, opt for a regular leather pencil skirt and it will give you the same tough girl look. Dress up or dress down the next two must haves. Trouser or dress pants are a must in your closet. You never know when you will have an interview, a business meeting, or just want to wear dress pants. The same go for the sweats. If i had my choice i would wear sweats all my life. These are the jogger style so they can be dressed up with pumps or dressed down with sneakers. Hey you can even wear them to bed if you really wanted to.

I have all 3 of these pieces in my closet. I even have multiple black faux leather jackets. There's not much I can say about these pieces, as they kind of explain themselves. My favorite though has to be my moto style faux leather jacket. I can toughen up any outfit with style of jacket and it's always my go to. I do love a good black blazer though, great piece to pair with those trousers, jeans, dresses, or whatever you desire. The same goes for a cardigan, and you can layer with it.

Shoes:

I'm surprised I didn't just put a ton of different black boots here. But I know that I, and well anyone else can't just have boots as part of their basics. I chose to show two flat options and two heeled options. What else can you ask for? Dress up or dress down whatever you chose to wear with just what's on your feet.

We are finally at the end of what we all need in our closets. I do not own a black purse, and yes I know I'm slacking. I have been eyeing the Michael Kors Hamilton purse for years and have never had the balls or wallet to purchase it. So Maybe this fall/winter I will find one that is similar. Wide brims hats are my obsession and if I could have 20 of them in black I would. It totally completes most of my edgy outfits and it helps when I don't want to do my hair. Do I even have to explain nail polish and underwear? I have a ton of black nail polish because, well I don't really know why. But when I am struggling to find a color to wear black is the 1st thing I pick up. The LBD is hands own one of my most versatile pieces in my closet. I can wear it with heels, flats, throw a sweater over it, tough it up with a faux leather moto jacket, or make it work appropriate with a blazer. If you don't have one in your closet, go out and get one asap!
